Common Questions
Learn about your smile and your dental health.
The more you know, the better decisions you can make when choosing
restorative procedures or cosmetic enhancements. Informed patients
work with their dental team to ensure a brilliant smile that lasts
a lifetime.
Do you accept my insurance
plan?
We are a fee-for-service practice, although we
accept reimbursement for out-of-network claims.
Call us with insurance questions.
What are your hours?
Our office is open Monday through Thursday, from
8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Please call us to schedule an appointment.
Can
I pay for this treatment in installments?
We accept cash, checks, and credit cards.
If you wish to finance dental work, CareCredit
offers extended payment options to qualified applicants.
Call us for more information on payments.
How
does the doctor keep up to date on current techniques and materials?
Dr. Quade and Dr. First consider continuing education
extremely important. Our team completes hundreds of hours of continuing
education classes each year on subjects such as occlusion and TMJ
disorders, dentures, periodontal disease and treatment, dental implants,
oral surgery, endodontics, practice management skills, technology,
and more.
Doctors and staff also study an assortment of professional
dental and medical journals to stay on top of the latest dental
research and technology.
My gums bleed. Is this a
problem?
Bleeding gums are uncomfortable and alarming.
Depending on the cause, the condition isn’t necessarily serious
though. Rough brushing, a hard-bristled toothbrush, or periodontal
disease may cause bleeding gums. If your gums continue to bleed
even when correct brushing procedures are followed, call our Florissant
and St. Charles family dental offices to set up a periodontal disease
evaluation. If you have periodontal disease, we may recommend root
planing, scaling, or antibiotic treatment.
Contact us for more
information about periodontal disease and treatment, and read the
gum disease and periodontal therapies articles in our library.
Can I safely whiten my teeth?
Yes! Call our dental office
to determine which teeth whitening method is best for you.
What do I do if I have a
dental emergency?
While most of our patients come on a regular basis
and rarely have a dental emergency, they do happen on occasion.
We keep time open in our schedule each day for emergencies or other
needed urgencies. If you are a patient of record with an after-hours
emergency, call our main office phone number and follow the instructions
to reach help.
What should I do if a temporary
crown breaks?
We suggest using a denture adhesive, available
over the counter at most drugstores or just regular toothpaste to
hold the broken crown in place until you can schedule an appointment
at our Florissant or St. Charles dental offices.
